Many believe the tradition of the teacher’s apple began in the late 1700’s, when families would often show their appreciation by gifting their most valuable, sought after fruit.
But today, apples have become synonymous with teachers for so many other reasons…and it all begins with the seed that they so graciously plant.
And just as the apple seed needs nurturing and care to become a fruit-bearing tree, so do our children. Thank you for believing in their potential, loving them endlessly, watering them daily, and helping them grow into who they are meant to be.
FRIENDSHIP / SISTERHOOD / MOTHER & DAUGHTER
In the wild, female elephants are known as fierce protectors. And when one of their sisters is suffering, they circle up around her. They close in tight, watch guard, and even kick dust around her to mask her vulnerable scent from predators.
And yet, we are the same. This is who we are, and who we are meant to be for each other. Sometimes we’re the ones in the middle. Sometimes we’re the ones kicking up dust with fierce, fierce love. But the circle remains.
THE DIVINE MESSENGER
The dove is known as an everlasting symbol of peace, between nations, humans, and also within our hearts. They are called ‘the divine messenger’ because they commonly evoke peace and comfort, sent to us straight from above.
Doves teach us that, regardless of external circumstances, peace is always close by and endlessly available. In difficult times, may this dove be a reminder of the peace that you long to find, the peace that surpasses all understanding.
ENCOURAGEMENT/HOPE MONARCH ORNAMENT
(DIFFICULT SEASON / ENCOURAGEMENT / HOPE)
Monarchs are the symbol of hope and life, often seen with wings spread in glorious power. But before they can ever take flight, they must first completely transform.
The process is daunting and dark. And just when they think their life is over, they emerge…hanging by their feet, wings wet and folded, weary from the journey. Their entire world upside down.
Then, they summon all of their courage, and bravely let go.
Upon seeing their world from above, they know...
They were always meant to fly.
